Holidays In Oz

Hubby has taken Boy Wonder and Nachos out for a walk and while Poseidon is taking a nap I can do a quickie update.

It had been a bit of a shock to the system after we arrived in Melbourne. Hubby and I were going to Qualia for a 3 day break on our own, so I had to wean and sleep train Poseidon while we were all still a bit jet lagged. It was rough the first few days, but after Poseidon started sleeping through the night, things were much better. I still struggle not being able to hand him over to our helper when he wakes up in the morning, but I'm coping.

One of the main things Hubby wanted to do with the kids was to camp out again in our backyard. Nachos is old enough this year, so she was able to join in on the fun.

Hubby and the kids setting up camp.

The kids all ready for their camp out that night. Isn't Nachos adorable in her sleeping hat? She wears it to sleep almost every night.

We did the annual family gift giving at Grandma and Pop's place on Christmas Eve. Even us big kids were a bit excited.

If only these 3 crazy kids can sit like this ALL the time, instead of only when presents are about to be given out!

Boy Wonder got Mario Kart for his DS and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Nachos with her loot. She didn't know where to start!

Hubby got Eastbound And Down t-shirts and a matching wig. I really don't get what the deal is with that show.

Dr. Nachos with her new doctor's kit.

Even poor Poseidon had to don the wig.

After we got home from Grandma and Pop's that night, I had to work like a rabid elf to get all the presents from Santa wrapped! Thank goodness the kids already put up the tree with Grandma and Pop while Hubby and I were away on our trip.

Check out the carnage that went on after all the presents were opened. Even after the rubbish and recycling trucks came and went, we still have tons of recyclables and a few bags of rubbish piled in our laundry room. I haven't even mentioned New Years Eve at our place yet! Can't wait for the next pick up on Thursday.

Here are all the kids playing with the Wii Santa brought the whole family.

That evening we had the annual Christmas dinner for all the extended family at Grandma and Pop's house.

After dinner it was presents all over again! It was carnage all over again with all the cousins, aunts, uncles, grand kids, etc.

Poseidon had no idea what was going on, but at least he was eagerly watching all the excitement.

A great picture that depicts what we're all about. Happy New Year everyone!
