Population Explosion

Yesterday was my joint baby shower with M. She's expecting twins! We're only 3 days apart in our pregnancy. When I was trying to get pregnant with Nachos a few years ago, M and I were in the same boat. Although its taken these many years more for her to get pregnant, just the coincidence of getting pregnant at pretty much the same time this time is amazing! I couldn't be happier for her.

The doctor has told us on our individual assessments that our sugar levels are a bit high and so that we should cut down on sweets. But as you can see from M's plate, there was no cutting down yesterday afternoon! I was really bad eating sushi, soft cheese and even parma ham. But heck, we were at the Marriott, so I trust their food would be fresh enough? Oh well, as they were all telling us yesterday: you're about to give birth anyways, no harm pigging out a bit. If only I was not in a rush to get home, I would have eaten a lot more!

Although it was M's and my shower, it sure didn't mean we were the only pregnant women. Out of the 8 ladies that were there, half were pregnant. J should be popping any day now and M's doctor thinks her twins will be delivered very soon too. T is due later this year and I'm due in early July. I just hope Poseidon will be a good boy and stay in my tummy till our new helper arrives!

Its amazing how time flies. Whenever we have occasions like these, I always think back at where we started. I still remember the very first baby showers we threw each other. From those initial days of the baby boom, it sure has been a population explosion in every sense of the word. Not only has our population boomed in terms of babies, but also in terms of the friends.

Thank you so much for organizing such a wonderful afternoon for us Ragamuffin Girl!

No joke about the population explosion. Looks like HKG's going to see a lot more people running around. Well, crawling around at first...
