Busy Trip To Oz

We got back from another trip to Australia last Monday. I've been hoping to do more blogging but its just harder to do so ever since we moved Nachos into our computer room. I'll try to post as much as I can before I head out to meet Hubby for dinner.

This last trip to Australia was a busy one. We had to attend a wedding in Brisbane in which Hubby was a groomsman and Boy Wonder was the ring bearer. Nachos was supposed to be the flower girl, but just before we left HK we decided she wouldn't fare well on a 2 day road trip. It was a good thing we decided to leave her with my in-laws because boy was it a LONG car ride. Thank god for the portable DVD player we redeemed with our points which entertained Boy Wonder through most of the trip. Hubby and I went a bit nutty having to listen to Elmo's Top 10 Countdown for a few hundred times, but the upside was worth it.

I also helped the bride Sachi take some pictures while she and her family were getting ready for the wedding. It was a first for me and while I enjoyed taking tons of pictures for her, I realize its something I need to work on some more but definitely want to pursue in the future. There are still lots of technicalities I need to learn when it comes to using my camera. But I'm confident once I figure things out I can actually be a good photographer someday.

Brisbane is a beautiful city. We stayed at Kangaroo Point which was next to the river. We stayed on the quiet side of town and just with one short ferry ride to get into the heart of the city. I wouldn't mind living there someday or have a holiday home/apartment. The weather is warm which is a major deal for me. I only wish Melbourne was warmer.
This trip was also timed well enough for Hubby to run the Melbourne Marathon for the 2nd time. His goal was to do it in 3 hours 30 or less and he said if he was successful that we'd go back to The Steak House to celebrate. Guess where we're going for dinner tonight!? Yup! Hubby did SO well. He finished the marathon in 3 hours 27 minutes! He's our hero! Now he's going to try and finish a marathon (maybe Gold Coast) in 3 hours. Wonder what we'll do to celebrate if he's successful?

The most exciting thing we had to do during this trip was to finalize the plans of our house and sign the contract to build! Hubby and I drove into town one day to meet with the building company. After looking through the contract and discussing some odds and ends, Hubby signed all the pages, wrote out the cheque and handed it over. I couldn't believe it was finally going to happen. I even got abit emotional when Hubby handed over the cheque. We are going to build our dream home! Well, Hubby says its going to be our "first" dream home. He says the next one we build when the kids are older and gone off to college will be THE dream home because we'll get to spend the big bucks then. But for now, I couldn't be happier with this house.

Ok need to get going. Will blog some more when we get back!
